Iraq War Fulfilling Isaiah 19?

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=isaiah%2019&version=31 - Predicts the Nile will dry up.

A 2008 article about the Nile drying up in the future: http://cabiblog.typepad.com/hand_picked/2008/04/will-the-nile-d.html.  I’ve never been a Global Warming fan, but if it is true, it could help this scripture come about.

Isaiah 19 also predicts that Egypt, the Assyrians, and Israel will be a blessing in the midst of the earth.  According to Wikipedia, the largest Assyrian population is in Iraq, and Iraq is now a Democracy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assyrians.  The other countries with Assyrians today include Syria, Iran, and Turkey.  There is also an Assyrian diaspora throughout Western civilization.  Given the War on Terror, this would be the perfect time for Assyrians to become blessing in the midst of the earth, along with Israel …

Biden to step down?

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

I got the following email.  I seriously doubt it’s true, and I didn’t want to email it to people.  But, I also wanted to make sure that if it is true, that I had it documented in a verifiable place before it happened.  So here it is:
This is the most recent unconfirmed report/rumor I have received about Biden stepping down from the ticket, and the first I’ve circulated. It’s crystal clear that Biden is a liability to the Democratic ticket, and Hillary would bring scorned radical feminists back into the Democratic fold. (I’d wager that Hillary & Co. would not vote for an Obama/Biden ticket,  allowing McCain to win so Hillary can run on her own in 2012.)
The question would …

Proverbs 1 - A Message from Jesus to the United States (Part 1)
Proverbs 1 - A Message from Jesus to the United States (Part 2)

Many Christians might consider the following verses from Proverbs 1 to be an accurate description of the war in Iraq:
10 My son, if sinners entice you,
do not consent.
11 If they say, “Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood; (make war)
let us ambush the innocent without reason; (warrantless wire taps)
12 like Sheol …

Proverbs 1 - A Message from Jesus to the United States (Part 1)

The Enticement of Sinners

8 Hear, my son, your father’s instruction,
and forsake not your mother’s teaching,
9 for they are a graceful garland for your head
and pendants for your neck.

Spoken to a son, spoken in love.  We are each God’s son, God is our father, the Church is our mother, who is the bride of Christ, who is our God who would come as man.  And so we can know that whatever message follows is a message to the members of God’s Church, to …

Proverbs 1 - A Message from Jesus to the United States (Part 1)

I have been praying over the last several months, about how it is that so many different God-fearing people can love God with their heart, soul, and mind, and love their neighbors as themselves, and yet see the world so differently.  This difference is seen across space and time, as one views the world and history.

In King David’s time, the God-fearing made war, and wrote of it.  David is recorded a man after God’s own heart, but have you read all of his psalms?  I have, and they are not all filled with peace and love.  Some are filled with dread and depression.  Some are filled with prayers for blessings on himself and God’s people; other prayers are for curses …
