Isaiah 62 - Hope for Israel and me
 1 For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,
      for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet,
      till her righteousness shines out like the dawn,
      her salvation like a blazing torch. 2 The nations will see your righteousness,
      and all kings your glory;
      you will be called by a new name
      that the mouth of the LORD will bestow.- - -
 4 No longer will they call you Deserted,
      or name your land Desolate.
      But you will be called Hephzibah,
      and your land Beulah;
      for the LORD will take delight in you,
      and your land will be married. 5 As a young man marries a maiden,
      so will your sons marry you;
      as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride,
      so will your God rejoice over you.- - -
 12 They will be called the Holy People,
      the Redeemed of the LORD;
      and you will be called Sought After,
      the City No Longer Deserted.
This happened partially when the remnants were brought together and the temple was rebuilt. However, it was not complete, and then the temple was destroyed and Israel was scattered yet again.
I believe the final fulfillment of this chapter will occur when Christ comes again and the Tribulation has ended. Jesus will come, and the Lamb marry His bride, New Jerusalem… another new name for Israel?
In tough times such as these, and knowing that there will be a time that is even quite worse, it is encouraging for me read about how it will also be one day, how awesome and promising, even after the worst that is yet to come.
It reminds me of an insight I had a few months back. The bad times are never God’s destination for us… merely regions are road must pass through. It is why Paul told us to keep our eye on the prize. And so I do.
