Hosea 2
 18 In that day I will make a covenant for them
      with the beasts of the field and the birds of the air
      and the creatures that move along the ground.
      Bow and sword and battle
      I will abolish from the land,
      so that all may lie down in safety. 19 I will betroth you to me forever;
      I will betroth you in righteousness and justice,
      in love and compassion. 20 I will betroth you in faithfulness,
      and you will acknowledge the LORD. 21 “In that day I will respond,”
      declares the LORD—
      “I will respond to the skies,
      and they will respond to the earth; 22 and the earth will respond to the grain,
      the new wine and oil,
      and they will respond to Jezreel. 23 I will plant her for myself in the land;
      I will show my love to the one I called ‘Not my loved one.’
      I will say to those called ‘Not my people,’ ‘You are my people’;
      and they will say, ‘You are my God.’ “
Part of this was done when Israel was gathered back from the desert, and the temple was rebuilt. However, they were since re-scattered, and today cannot realize their savior. After all of their victories now, as the state of Israel since 1948, they now look to the United States for protection, and not to God. Netanyahu is Prime Minister, and understands how our American policies, under the current President, is putting them in harm’s way with Iran… but will he do anything about it? I don’t know, because he is not a man of faith. If he acts therefore, it will not be in faith, and therefore not in obedience, because God to him is not real. The United States is real however, and is too concerned about living out the Star Trek Prime Directive of non-interference with Iran, such that we will most likely let Iran make its way its first successful nuclear test… to our detriment, Israel’s, and potentially the world’s.
And so, I believe this scripture will not be fulfilled forevermore until after the Anti-Christ has made his covenant with Israel, ushering in the Tribulation, and has initiated the abomination of desolation 3.5 years later.  It is only after that, perhaps not even until Jesus returns conquering, and to conquer, that Israel will finally realize how their God has been working all of these years to keep them safe… sending Jesus to die for their sins and raising up a Christian nation (America) to look after them for most of their modern existence. Only then will they realize. And that is when this scripture will be fulfilled. That is when Jesus will wed with Jerusalem, and initiate His Kingdom, as described in Revelation 19:
 6Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:
   ”Hallelujah!
      For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
 7Let us rejoice and be glad
      and give him glory!
   For the wedding of the Lamb has come,
      and his bride has made herself ready.
 8Fine linen, bright and clean,
      was given her to wear.” (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.)
