Responses to 17 proofs against evolution

On Jesus is Savior, there is a list of 17 proofs against evolution:

Argument 1: Not enough dust on the moon.  Refuted: http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/moon-dust.html

Argument 2: Magnetic Field is decreasing exponentially.  Refuted: http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/magfields.html

Argument 3: Fossil Record, because it has no transitional forms. Species appear too abruptly. Refuted: This proves to me that God abruptly created new species.  Adding God, in fact, validates the Fossil Record, rather than nullifying it, because without God there can be no fossil record.

Argument 4: Embryonic Recapitulation, arguing that it’s falisification also falsifies Evolution.  Refuted: http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/wells/haeckel.html

Argument 5: Probability.  Refuted: His argument does not prove it didn’t happen, but that God was involved.

Argument 6: 2nd Law of Thermodynamics. Refuted: The SLoTd only requires the universe as a whole to lose energy and order.  It does not prohibit the creation of order here and there, as long as more order is lost than created overall.  Regardless, arguing that something is against the laws of physics only proves God was there.

Argument 7: Vestigial Organs.  Refuted: Argument misunderstands several things.  For example, discovering that something is not vestigial is not an argument to dismiss all ”vestigial” organs.  Another example: Asserts that useless organs should completely disappear if Evolution is true.  That is not evolution.  If a vestigial organ has no impact on survivability, and an entire species has it, then so will every descendent.

Argument 8: Fossil Fuels.  Refuted: Incorrectly conflates time to fossilize, with time to produce fossil fuel.

Argument 9: Punctuated Equilibria.  I agree with this one.  However, it proves nothing, because nobody is arguing it.

Argument 10: Homology.  I don’t know enough about homology to comment.

Argument 11: Dating Methods.  Assumes that making assumptions about initial conditions are invalid. Refuted: Assumptions suggest predictions; if the predictions turn out to be true, it supports the assumption.  Science does this successfully all the time.

Argument 12: Dinosaurs.  A lot of anecdotal evidence, conjecture, legends.  Nothing observable.  Does not explain anything.  Self-refuting in my opinion.

Argument 13: Shrinking sun. More detailed explanation: http://www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v11/i2/sun.asp. Refuted: http://www.asa3.org/ASA/pscf/1986/PSCF9-86VanTill.html

Argument 14: Nile’s overflow rate.  I don’t know anything about this one.

Argument 15: Earth’s rate of rotation slowing. Refuted: http://www.talkorigins.org/indexcc/CE/CE011.html

Argument 16: Written Record. Refuted: Only proves when written records began.

Argument 17: Bible. Insists God created everything.  I agree.  Refuted: It doesn’t mean the earth is young.
