Lud is mentioned in 3 verses in scripture, each in regards to ancestry…

  2. Genesis 10:22 - The sons of Shem: Elam, Ashur, Arphaxad, Lud and Aram.
  3. 1 Chronicles 1:17 - The Semites The sons of Shem: Elam, Ashur, Arphaxad, Lud and Aram. The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether and Meshek.

 According to Wikipedia, “The descendants of Lud are usually, following Josephus, connected with various Anatolian peoples, particularly Lydia (Assyrian Luddu)…” in Anatolia, though Lydia would not appear to be named for Lud. Lydia is off our map, above the Mediterranean as indicated below…
