I believe that mankind had already subdued the earth when the Tower of Babel occurred, which I think was 2700BC (approximately). Finally, I believe that the Middle East reacted to this with bi-lingualism for a few strong leaders, hence increasing the conquering of the Middle East, after initially scattering them into groups.
