2 Peter 3 - Was Peter a Young Earth Creationist?

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

 3First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” 5But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water.
To my Young Earth Creationist friends, verse 5 is clear evidence that the earth is young.  Why?  Because Evolutionists do not believe that the earth was formed out of water and by water.  On the other hand, Genesis 1:2 says this about …

2 Peter 3 - Righteousness leads us to the next Creation

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

Wow.  I have been doing this word study on righteousness for nearly a year and a half, feeling at least in part like it is too much a distraction from Geocreationism to be posted on this blog… yet, perhaps out of laziness (I didn’t want to create another blog), I posted my entire venture through the verses on righteousness on this blog.  Now, I come to the last chapter in the bible that contains the word Righteousness, and I am simply floored.  What floored me?  Here is the last verse on righteousness, 2 Peter 3:13:
13But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.
It has been so easy …

Are YECs insane?

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

“If Young Earth Creationists are out of their mind, it is for the sake of God; if Old Earth Creationists are in their right mind, it is for you.” — 2 Corinthians 5:13

Okay, I’m kidding.  People who believe in a young earth are not insane, but they are out of their mind… in the way 2 Corinthians 5:13 says.  Oh wait.  That isn’t really 2 Corinthians 5:13, is it?  Sorry about that.  Couldn’t resist.  As much as I emphasize that YECs have admirable faith and should not be converted to being Evolutionists at the cost of their faith and fellowship, the very tension of the Creation debate sometimes finds its release in potentially offensive jokes.  So for that, I apologize.  …

Evidence that the Fall in the Garden was Spiritual

Sunday, October 11th, 2009

One of the primary criticisms of Old Earth views of the universe stems from the introduction of death into the world.  According to a young earth perspective, God created the world perfect, and in that perfection there was no sin, and therefore no death.  Death was introduced by Adam’s and Eve’s disobedience in the garden.  Therefore, because death was not in the world before the fall, evolution would be impossible, because the theory of evolution is based on fossils that are thought to have died long before the fall.  If the reasoning is correct, then this contradiction is clear proof that evolution is a fallacy, that the earth is young, and God truly means to communicate that in scripture.  It is …

Jeremiah 33 - Proof of Evolution

Monday, June 29th, 2009

Thus far, I have been spending this year in a study on righteousness.  My reason for doing so on an Evolutionary Creationist website is that a lot of answers to my Ultimate Questions for God seemed wrapped up in the concept of righteousness, and so I wanted to make sure that truly understood it, the best that I could.  And so I’m going through the verses on righteousness.  Well, in studying the “righteousness” verse of Jeremiah 33, I came upon the following passage, which to me speaks directly to creation, and indirectly to the age of our earth [emphasis added]:
 19 The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah: 20 “This is what the LORD says: ‘If …

Isaiah 32, 33 - Transformation of the World into Christ’s Kingdom

Isaiah 32

 1 See, a king will reign in righteousness
       and rulers will rule with justice.

 16 Justice will dwell in the desert
       and righteousness live in the fertile field.

 17 The fruit of righteousness will be peace;
       the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever.

Isaiah 33

 5 The LORD is exalted, for he dwells on high;
       he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness.
Isaiah warns that where people have plenty, they will have nothing.  Once they have nothing, Jesus will return and the land will be restored.

He warns that where evil is not repaid, it will be when they stop… when they die I suspect.

The land of Israel will …

“He believed in Evolution, and God credited to him as righteousness”

Friday, January 30th, 2009

Okay, this isn’t exactly a verse in the bible, but I wanted to get your attention.

As I’ve been doing my word study on righteousness, thoughts naturally gravitate back to Evolution, Creationism, and Geocreationism. I’ve been reading this great book which I cannot find in my morning haze, but it advances the common argument that God’s testimony is in scripture and in science.  In other words, what we discover about the world, is knowledge that God wants us to have… and why wouldn’t He?  I mean, anything we learn about Him, whether it be how He saved us from our sins, or created the world in which live, is more knowledge about Him and His love for us.  Why wouldn’t I want …
