Reading Elihu’s speech in Job 37, it struck me that it was immediately followed by Job 38, which contains one of the Creation stories in the Bible that is consistent with both the ancient pagan creation myths, and paradoxically modern science.  You can read more about The Creation Account in Job.

What struck me is the contrast between how Elihu attempts to challenge Job with Creation, versus how God does, and how that applies to today.

I recently encountered a person, on Steve Martin’s excellent blog An Evangelical Dialog on Evolution, named Herman Cummings.  Cummings espouses his own theory of how to interpret Genesis 1 that he calls the “Observations of Moses”.  To be honest, I thought he was kidding because of his self-declaration:
If you wish to waste your time with those that are not an expert on Genesis (there’s only one), then expect to be given false information.

Classical Liberal…

One of the things I like about writing of Creation is that Genesis 1 is about more than just Creation.  It tells the story of Jesus.  I write about this in detail in Separation in Creation Confirms Trinity, but I want to remind you of an ineteresting parallel to Day 2, as lived out by Jesus:

I have an admission to make.  I don’t get any comments.  Okay, that’s not much of an admission.  If you read here regularly, then you have probably noticed that.  So let me ask, why don’t you comment?

Do I come off like I think I’m perfect? (I’m not)

Ecclesiastes 10:1 reads, in part:
 A wise man’s heart inclines him to the right,
  but a fool’s heart to the left.
Of course, if you’re talking politics, both sides have their share of wise men and fools, but this gave me a chuckle!

Just a quick question.

If the earth were capable of passively producing complex life forms, with no involvement from God, then why isn’t that evidence for Intelligent Design?
