Noah > Shem > Aram > Meshek
Noah > Japheth > Meshek
Meshek appears twice in the Table of Nations, once as Shem’s grandson and once as Japheth’s son. There are only 10 verses in the Bible with the name Meshek, 4 of them referring to his lineage…
Genesis 10:2 - The Japhethites The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshek and Tiras.
Genesis 10:23 - The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether and Meshek
1 Chronicles 1:5 - The Japhethites The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshek and Tiras.
1 Chronicles 1:17 - The Semites The sons of Shem: Elam, Ashur, Arphaxad, Lud and Aram. The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether and Meshek….

Every now and then I go searching for other Old Earth bloggers. I just found one that looks really good. I like how it’s organized, and like the variety of topics. Also importantly, he’s still posting. I can’t tell you how many bloggers I find whose last post is 6 months ago, or longer… not that there’s any lack of old material worth reading there!
The site is The GeoChristian… with my own site being Geocreationism, I had to check it out.

Devotional Verse: Genesis 28:16 - When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, “Surely the LORD is in this place, and I was not aware of it.” - Where were you in the presence of the LORD, but did not realize it?
Noah > Shem > Aram > Hul
Noah > Shem > Aram > Gether
Hul and Gether are mentioned only in Genesis 10:23 and 1 Chronicles 1:17. Neither Wikipedia nor BibleAtlas.org say anything significant of them, though Gether is part of Arabic tradition.

Devotional: Luke 16:10 - Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.
Noah > Shem > Aram
Though not part of the Messianic line, the name/word Aram, Aramean, and Aramaic appear in 144 verses in the Bible. In the little research I have done, there is no clear connection between Aram and the people eponymously named for him. While the Aramaic language and Mandaeism religion would appear to at least refer back to him, these do not appear to be significant to Jewish or Christian prophecy, theology, or eschatology. Still, their level of interaction does …

Given Glenn Morton’s fitting background for evaluating the Hydroplate Theory, I suspected that he had written something on the matter and I was right…
http://www.answersincreation.org/walter_brown_hydroplate_theory.htm
A few quotes:
“Brown’s model requires that no mountains be on the preflood earth, forcing the Bible to be wrong… Thus, you must violate the Biblical record where it says that all the high mountains were covered. In your conception of the flood there could be no mountains or hills.”
And in fact, Morton is right. Brown asserts that there were no mountains yet when the flood began. They were formed after the earth was flooded. So while there would be a time Brown’s scenario when the mountains existed and were covered, it was not because …

I say ”for now” in my title, because I have not read the entire book. Walt Brown goes on to describe many of the earth’s features in terms of the Hydroplate Theory he laid out. At this point, I’m a little spent, because ripping apart arguments of fellow Christians makes me feel very unloving, and it isn’t good for me. I do want to give the rest of his book the kind of attention it deserves (I mean this in a good way), but I also need to do what is good for me, and moving on to the rest of book at this time would not be.

Hydroplate Overview Page 7
Based on my post Review - In the Beginning by Walt Brown - Hydroplate Theory (Part 4), Brown has my attention. I do not believe he has the firm grasp on hydro dynamics that his theory’s name would suggest. Still, the type of reaction I concluded would happen from Brown’s initial conditions would produce sufficiently similar results to what he predicts (a build-up of energy massive enough to impact the entire worlds continental plates), such that it makes sense for me to move forward. The main difference between my conclusion and his is that where Brown has water ionizing within vapor, I have vapor ionizing within water. What my mental exercise suggests however is that …

The Hydroplate Theory: Key Assumption
The key assumption is that until the flood, the world had a series of subterranean tunnels filled with super critical water. Everything then flows from there.
Usually, when I make assumptions on my job (I am an engineer), I usually have a basis for the assumption. It may seem arbitrary to others, but I usually have a reason. I cannot quite call it a conclusion however because a strong feeling that I’m right is not an argument. However, I can proceed to test my assumption. Brown starts with an assumption that I would call an assertion with no basis. But as I said, many of my own assumptions …

I must say, that my respect for Walt Brown as a Christian is not coming out in my critique. I am, by nature, very critical when I think someone is wrong, and I really strongly hugely disagree with Walt Brown’s characterization of things regarding Evolution and various aspects of science. That said, I really respect the lengths and efforts he goes to in order to strengthen people’s faith in Christ. In that regard, he is doing exactly what I am trying to with my own creation theories… helping bolster the faith of people in religious distress. For those people who would never receive my evidence for things however, then I would prefer they receive Brown’s and be right with God, …

Continuing with Hydroplate Overview Page 3
I was starting to critique Brown’s misunderstanding of how plate tectonics work, when I realized something. Though he discusses the mid-oceanic ridge and subduction on the same page, he never addresses the theory for how they would work together. He never actually says they don’t work together, just that plates don’t move. They don’t move apart, and they don’t move together. They just don’t move. Period. I don’t agree.
Ocean Trenches (Subduction)
Brown does not think Subduction occurs.
Plate tectonics claims that a trench forms when a plate dives down into the mantle at a 35°–60° angle below the horizontal, a process advocates call subduction. How this …
